We never leave this stop without grabbing some farm-fresh food. Every road tripper heading towards Nakuru knows the iconic Delamere Farm Shop in Naivasha. Just off the highway, this pit stop is a slice of history with a modern twist. Getting into the Delamere farm shop feels like stepping back in time, with its rustic charm and fresh produce. Whether it’s a loaf of freshly baked bread, a creamy yogurt, or their famous cold milkshakes, everything here feels like it’s been made with love. We also enjoy browsing their shelves for unique snacks and locally sourced goodies to take home.

Pro tip: Grab their homemade beef pies or samosas—they’re absolutely delicious and perfect for munching on as you continue your drive. 

On our most recent trip, we treated ourselves to their freshly cooked samosas—it was the perfect fuel for the rest of our journey. The relaxed ambiance and the friendly staff make it a must-visit for anyone traveling along this route.

The aroma of roasting goat and beef greets you as soon as you pull over, and it’s impossible to resist. We always order a plate of freshly roasted goat meat, served with ugali and kachumbari. There’s something about the smoky flavor and the simplicity of the meal that makes it unforgettable.

We love sitting outside at one of the roadside tables, digging into our meal with our hands, and soaking up the lively atmosphere. It’s the kind of pit stop that feels authentically Kenyan—a little rustic, a lot delicious, and absolutely worth it.

Most of these stops have small vendors selling snacks like roasted maize, groundnuts, and fresh fruit. We love grabbing a roasted maize cob and munching on it as we soak in the view. It’s a simple pleasure that never gets old.
